Ivanka Waplak, Interior Designer
B.Env.D., M.I.D., PIDIM, NCIDQ

In 2017, Ivanka completed the Master of Interior Design program at the University of Manitoba and shortly after began working with MMP Architects. Over the past few years, she has gained experience on various renovation and new build projects within the healthcare, hospitality, education, and corporate sectors. Her technical skills continue to be an asset in translating design ideas into detailed drawings and 3D renderings that help provide clients with a clear understanding of a space or building before it is constructed.

Ivanka’s role on projects often begins at the onset of project procurement and continues onto the design, all the way through to construction completion. With this continuous project involvement, she is able to carry the technical and detailed aspects of a design throughout all project phases while remaining true to the original design intent. The all-inclusive involvement has allowed Ivanka to gain experience in developing functional space programs, space planning, material and finish selection, detailing, as well as construction processes and practices.  The broad experience that Ivanka has attained at MMP has helped her develop a well-rounded understanding of both project and construction management.

Ivanka also has a keen interest in expanding her industry knowledge and practices, leading her to achieve her NCIDQ certification in 2020. In 2021 she joined the Professional Interior Designers Institute of Manitoba (PIDIM) Council, managing public relations for the association where she is able to be at the forefront of industry developments.
